Quarterly Communion Service

On every 5th Sunday (typically 4-5 times a year) we have our Communion Service. Our church practices "close", not "closed" communion, meaning everyone who knows Jesus Christ as their personal Savior is invited to partake. Membership to our church is not required.

The 1st Saturday of every month from 8am - 9am, men of all ages from our church come together for a time of brotherhood, food & prayer.

All men of the church are invited to attend & are welcome to bring your son(s), a friend & a dish to share.

The 2nd Monday of every month 1pm-3pm women of all ages from our church are invited to come together for an evening of sisterhood, food & prayer. All ladies of the church are invited to attend & are welcome to bring a friend!

The Ladies of Hope also organize multiple outreach opportunities throughout the year including serving at the Bluefield Union Mission, putting together gift baskets for the elderly residents at Hinton Main Street Care & more.

This is a new youth ministry being offered at CBC & is open to those in grades 6th - 12th. They meet on Wednesday evenings at the church from 6:15pm-7:30pm for Bible Study & activities.

This ministry is run by Youth Pastor Jon & his wife; their hope is as this ministry continues to grow, they will soon be able to offer fun outings for the youth as well as service projects.

These events will be held quarterly (as weather & schedules allow) & the main hope for this ministry is to connect with local churches & to be able to provide the unchurched with a home church.

Previous events from this ministry have included:

  • Laser Tag - Provided by Alpine Ministries of Appalachian Bible College

  • Snow tubing at Winterplace

  • Youth & Family Gospel Sing - Provided by local musicians

  • The Gospel Heralds Concert - Provided by Appalachian Bible College

Highway Cleanup

Every April & September from 8am - 10:30am we gather volunteers to help clean a two-mile stretch along both sides Route 12 in Forest Hill.

This is a great opportunity for those who wish to actively keep our community clean & to get in some great cardio!

Volunteers must be:

  •  12 years or older

  • Able to carry a weight anywhere from 5lbs-30lbs.

  • Have clear senses & wherewithal of their surroundings as certain sections of the highway are very steep & will have traffic going by at 60mph.

In 2021 CBC introduced our 5-Day Youth Challenge Camp. This is very similar to Vacation Bible School but has a larger focus on sports. However, it isn't all about sports as there are some activities offered for those who may be less interested in sports.

Sport activities include: Wiffleball, Flag Football, Capture the Flag & Volleyball.

Non-sport activities include: Nature hikes, GagaBall, Cornhole & Tag.

  • Every evening begins with a time of worship music & a lesson on the theme of the week.

  • Snack/water breaks are given to all age groups.

  • At the end of the day, all age groups are taught a Bible lesson & are given a memory verse to think on throughout the week.

  • The end-of-week activities typically include relay races, an ice cream social & a water night.

  • This camp is FREE & open to youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Annual Church Picnic

Once a year we gather for a time of fellowship, good food & lots of music!

The date, time & location varies each year so for updated picnic info please contact us.
